Comment by Hugh Quarshie:
“Paul Glaser is a multi-talented artist and something of a polyglot. I first encountered him as a singer-dancer-actor in Hamburg in the early nineties, performing in German while switching effortlessly in conversation between English and his native Swedish.
It was only later that I became aware of his song writing, composing and recording skills. It came as no surprise to learn that he was also a skilled and sensitive director. His appointment as Artistic Director of The English Theatre of Hamburg led to a transformation of that venerable if hidebound institution. He has shown himself to be a director of good taste, sound commercial judgement and unflagging stamina. That he kept it going through the lockdowns is in itself impressive; that he did so with invention and style is quite simply astonishing.
I commend him to you.”
